Got questions? Here are the answers to the most common things growers and labour hire companies ask us.
We help growers and labour hire companies in horticulture and agriculture stay compliant. Our services include building compliance documentation (piece rate agreements, timesheets, WHS documents), supplying skilled workers for autonomous machines and general farm roles, back office digitisation, and hands-on consulting. We've been operating since 2009 with over 17 years of experience.
Agent Work Force has been operating since 2009 — that's over 17 years in the horticulture and agriculture industry. We've placed over 2,500 workers and worked with more than 20 large corporates, including global and local publicly listed companies.
Yes. We hold our own Labour Hire Licence, ensuring full regulatory compliance and accountability for every worker we place. We are operated by Suvarnabhoomi Pty Ltd trading as Orchard Tech and Agent Work Force.
Our head office is in Brighton, Melbourne VIC 3186, and we have a postal address at PO BOX 755, Robinvale VIC 3549. We service growers and labour hire companies across all of Australia.
As a grower, you need your own records of piece rate agreements used on your property, evidence that workers are being paid correctly, WHS documentation specific to your site, proof of site inductions, and records showing you've taken reasonable steps to ensure compliance. You cannot simply rely on the labour hire company to handle everything — there is shared responsibility under Australian law.
Shared responsibility means that both growers (host employers) and labour hire companies have legal obligations when it comes to worker pay, conditions, and safety. You can't just throw compliance back at the labour hire company and assume you're covered. Both parties need their own documentation proving they've met their obligations. Fair Work can pursue both parties if things go wrong.
No. We don't just hand you a folder of generic templates. We come to your site, understand your specific operation, and build all documents tailored to your workplace. Then we sit with your team and train them on how to use and maintain the systems. Generic templates downloaded from the internet won't protect you in an audit — your documents need to be specific to your actual operation.
A piece rate is payment per unit of output — for example, per bin of fruit picked, per tray packed, or per kilogram harvested. Under the Horticulture Award, the piece rate must enable a competent worker to earn at least 15% more than the minimum hourly rate. You need a signed Piecework Agreement with each worker before they start, and you must keep records of how the rate was calculated. We handle all of this for you.
Yes. We build all your workplace health and safety documentation including WHS policies, risk assessments, safe work procedures, site induction checklists, chemical registers, PPE requirements, emergency plans, and incident reporting forms. Everything is tailored to your specific site and hazards, not generic templates.
Yes. Agent Work Force is an approved employer under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme. We can source workers from Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. We also participate in the Vietnam Labour Mobility Arrangement (VLMA).
Through the PALM scheme, we source workers from 10 Pacific nations: Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. We also source workers from Vietnam through the Vietnam Labour Mobility Arrangement. That's 11 countries in total.
Yes. Our workforce can be trained to work with autonomous machines as well as basic horticulture and agriculture roles. We provide training on GPS-guided tractors, autonomous sprayers, drones, robotic harvesters, and other precision ag-tech equipment.
We work on a need-by-need basis. No monthly fees, no subscriptions, no lock-in contracts. We come to you when you need us, do the work, and charge accordingly. This makes it cost-effective because you only pay for what you actually need. Contact us for a free consultation and we'll give you a clear quote based on your specific requirements.
No. We deliberately don't charge monthly fees or subscriptions. We believe in a need-by-need model — you call us when you need help, we come and do the work, and that's it. If you need ongoing regular support, we can arrange that too, but it's always on your terms.
Yes. We come to your farm or office, sit with your team, and work alongside you. We don't do everything remotely — we believe the best results come from understanding your operation first-hand. We visit, assess, build the documentation, train your people, and then remain available for ongoing support.
That's perfectly fine. Not every farm needs to go fully digital. If your team works on paper, we take your paper-based records, digitise everything through our back office operations, run the calculations, and give you back clean, compliant data. It's cost-effective and it works. You don't need to be a tech expert.
Yes. We can build websites and handle digital services for growers and labour hire companies. If you need a professional web presence or any other digital tools, we can help with that too as part of our back office and digitisation services.
We supply workers across the full spectrum — from operators for high-end autonomous machines (GPS-guided tractors, autonomous sprayers, drones, robotic harvesters) to basic horticulture and agriculture roles (picking, packing, pruning, planting). Our workers are pre-vetted and can be deployed quickly.
We have pre-vetted operators ready to deploy within 48 hours for urgent needs. For larger seasonal workforce requirements or PALM scheme placements, lead times are longer but we work with you to plan ahead and ensure workers are available when you need them.
Yes. If there are queries from workers or clients, we help manage them. We provide support throughout the placement and act as a point of contact for both the workers and the host employer to ensure everything runs smoothly.
We're always happy to chat. Get in touch and we'll answer any questions you have about compliance, workforce, or how we can help your operation.
